Nick Jermyn
I have been an avid fantasy fan since I could read. When the opportunity presented itself to narrate Horde, I dismissed my misgivings about its formidable length & leaped in. I was already in love with the story’s premise & quickly fell in love with the characters too. At the time I accepted Ian’s offer, Will Smith’s Bright was playing on Netflix & it seemed to me that the time of the Orcs had come. The theme of minority prejudice felt prescient as Trump spoke of walling off Mexico & I particularly identified with Paug’s Jonathon Livingstone Seagull-esque bravery to pursue his dream.
I spent 18 years serving in the British Royal Marines Commandos before taking early retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel to pursue my dream of becoming an actor. Like the Orcs in the book, I left my mountain, not for Wilmasnatch but the equally cosmopolitan Los Angeles. I too was seeking to find my purpose. If I’m honest, ever since The Lord of The Rings, had been hoping to meet & be loved by a beautiful elf. I confess to having a small crush on Scuft and her mum . . . However it was Petunia that I enjoyed voicing the most and who I had the most fun with. I am already wondering what she has been up to since we last spoke . . .
Nick can be found on ACX. Horde can be downloaded from Audible, iTunes, and Amazon.
